StoryCorps Coming to Maine

A StoryCorps MobileBooth will be parked in Portland from Aug. 31 through Sept. 24. Mainers are encouraged to make reservations to record their stories for posterity.
For a month, facilitators from the project will be recording sessions with anyone willing to take some time to interview someone in their life.

Since it began, StoryCorps has branched out across the country to find out more about people's everyday lives. All it involves is spending about 40 minutes in a small recording booth, just talking to someone you know.

There's no requirement that you talk about anything in particular other than life. It could be anything- how your parents met, what your grandfather was like at your age or why you miss your best friend. All it costs is $10 and you get to keep a copy of the interview. [Link]
Interviews will be added to the StoryCorps Archive, housed at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
