Harrison Gets eBay Windfall

The town of Harrison decided to use eBay to sell a 1961 Dodge Power Wagon retired by the fire department last year. It finally sold for $23,501—so much that the town had to call a special meeting so that voters could approve its sale.
The now sold antique Dodge Power Wagon was purchased new by the Town of Harrison in 1961 to be used as a forestry vehicle. Since then, it has been stored under cover and been well maintained and serviced, according to the fire department.

The sale included the original driver's manual and owner's certificate issued by a Biddeford dealer in 1961.

The 7,500 pound truck has only a few minor dents, but was never involved in an accident and had no damage to the frame.

It was being listed on eBay as an "excellent truck to restore."

In addition to the original cherry-red paint, the vehicle has only 9,585 original miles. [Link]
