The Colby Eight

The Colby Eight has been singing a cappella at the college since 1947. Ben T. Steckler came across their 1959 album "Have a Ball" and gives it a glowing review on his blog.
This has to be the most professional sounding group of amateurs I've ever encountered. Their harmonies are firmly rooted in barbershop, but they go so much beyond that in their stylings, humor and avant garde arrangements. [Link]
The repertoire of the most recent incarnation of the group includes songs by a diverse collection of artists including Duke Ellington and Weezer.
