Augusta On Stage

Among the plays featured at this month's Contemporary American Theater Festival in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is a new comedy by Richard Dresser called Augusta.
In a small Maine town, middle-aged Molly and twenty-something Claire are caught in the working class vise, desperately clinging to low-wage jobs that barely allow them to make ends meet. While cleaning summer homes for wealthy clients, their working friendship is shaken up by their fast-talking new manager, Jimmy, who has his eye on a promotion. When dirty little secrets begin to show through their neatly scrubbed surfaces, the small-time power struggle starts to spin out of control. [Link]
Augusta will be performed by the Portland Stage Company next spring.
