Baldacci and Castro

The Christian Civic League of Maine is taking credit for the release of a photograph of Governor Baldacci meeting with Cuban President Fidel Castro — apparently because they've had little else to take credit for recently.

The photograph — released to VillageSoup — shows Castro apparently stunned to be standing next to the governor of Maine, who led a trade mission to Cuba last month.
The Christian Civic League of Maine wishes to advise the public that the photo showing Governor John Baldacci and Cuban dictator Fidel Castro taken by State Veterinarian Donald Hoenig, may have been released to the media to pre-empt the League from being the first to obtain the photo. Hoenig is currently the recipient of a Freedom of Access Request from the League. [Link]

This is, those in Maine agree, a critical election. Maine faces many significant challenges to its economic well-being as well as traditional way of life. We have outlined in the greatest detail what is required to most substantially move Maine successfully forward into the information-rich global economy that the world has become.

We invite any that may be interested to make their own comparison. Thank you.
