The Year of the Cat

It looks like The Cat is coming to Portland.

Portland hasn't had regular ferry service to the Maritimes since the Scotia Prince pulled out last spring. The Cat—which can carry 900 passengers and cruise along at 55 miles per hour—will take over the route between Portland and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and will continue to make runs out of Bar Harbor.

In related news, the Queen Mary 2 will be docked in Portland Harbor Wednesday. In case you can't pick it out, it's the one a quarter-mile long.
