Whole Lotta Shakin'

A mild earthquake was felt in Eastern Maine at 11:08:58 Saturday evening. The quake was centered about three miles northeast of Ayers Junction, which would place it in either Charlotte or Robbinston. It measured 3.4 on the Richter scale—too weak to cause even moderate damage.

Information on recent Maine quakes can be found at the websites of the Maine Geological Survey, Boston College, and the U.S. Geological Survey. To see what the quake looked like on the Canadian National Seismograph Network, check out this image.
