News From a Century Ago offers The News From January 1907, including reports of a not-so-mild winter in Maine.
The steamer Forest Queen of the Casco Bay Steamboat Co. was obliged to wear the ice cutter today as the ice has become so hard to break through. Between Little Diamond Island and the Eastern Yacht Club's wharf the ice is strong enough to walk upon. Two fishermen were seen this morning dragging their dory from Folly Point over the ice to the city.
