Mute Swan Visits Oxford County

A mute swan has been spotted in Greenwood and Woodstock recently.
Last Tuesday morning, Mary Ann Jordan of Woodstock was taking care of her granddaughter. They were looking out Jordan’s window at the birds.

But the bird they saw next was not one they expected.

Looking across the road at a nearby pond, “I saw a big white puff,” said Jordan. “I said, ‘Is that a swan? It can’t be.’”

It was. The large bird appeared to be a mute swan.

“The last place I saw a swan was at Storyland,” said Jordan. [Link]
According to Mainebirding.net, two of the birds—rare in this part of the world—were spotted in Ogunquit last month.
