Bird's-Eye Views of Maine

The Library of Congress has a collection of panoramic maps from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including 28 maps of Maine. They're not so much maps as bird's-eye views of Maine islands, villages, and cities—remarkable, given that such vantages were nearly impossible for the artists to reach in that era. The image below of Monhegan Island was published in 1896 by Massachusetts artist Albert F. Poole.
