Verner Reed, New England Photographer

Verner Zevola Reed III—a freelance photographer in the 1950s with more than 125 assignments for Lifepassed away Tuesday at his home in Falmouth. He and wife Deborah moved from Stowe, Vermont, to Pemaquid Harbor in 1973, and to Falmouth in 1980, where he picked up some new hobbies: jewelry making and silversmithing.

A Fall 2004 article in Historic New England Magazine describes Reed's photographs of New England subjects as "rich with artistry, wit, and insights into human nature—all of which reflect the character of a man with great zest for life." Judge for yourself by visiting the Verner Reed Photography website.
