Homer Says, "Eat Maine Potatoes"

Homer Simpson's plug for Maine potatoes on Sunday night was not solicited by the Maine Potato Board, according to Executive Director Donald E. Flannery.
"No, no, nope. No - it's nothing we paid for," said Flannery, laughing. "We never had anything to do with that. I guess I'm going to have to get a copy of it."
In Sunday night's episode, Homer sold advertising space on his body, including one spot that read, "Eat Maine Potatoes."
Homer, who was in bed, told his blue-tower-haired wife, Marge, that the tater reference wasn't an ad, but a reminder. He then reached over the edge of bed into a bag of - yup, "Maine Potatoes" - and started munching on one. [Link]
Simpsons Executive Producer Al Jean explains it this way: "All of the Simpsons writers are huge fans of Maine potatoes."

Yeah, right.

If I saw that thing climbing into my school bus, I'd head out the emergency door.
