Through A Howling Wilderness

Historian Tom Desjardin of Pittsfield has written a book which recalls Benedict Arnold's more noble actions.

Through A Howling Wilderness - Benedict Arnold's March to Quebec, 1775 recounts Arnold's failed expedition through Maine to capture Quebec City in the first year of the Revolution.
Q: What prompted you to write this book?

A: I have been fascinated by Arnold's march to Quebec since I was a child and our family would drive to a camp on Arnold Pond in Coburn Gore where Arnold's men crossed into Canada. Along the way, we would stop and read the old signs that used to tell the story of the expedition, and I was hooked. The last real complete book on this subject (other than novels) was written in 1903, so I thought it was time to bring the story to a wider audience. [Link]
