The Backwards of Maine

The Backwards of Maine with Cuzin' Waine Fromain is one of the Web's hidden treasures. Featuring the artwork and humor of C. W. Lakeman — described in today's Bangor Daily News as "a career paper mill employee who lives near the East Branch of the Penobscot River north of Grindstone" — the website offers such bizarre "invenshuns" as the Potable Dobsled and the Distressed Smelt Call & Fishtrap.

Lakeman's latest offering is a booklet on "How To Survive The Maine Moose Drive," with such pearls of wisdom as this:
Some will argue: 'If I go fast enough, I'll miss the moose I would have hit, because it would have come out in the road far behind me.' But ... what if you are going so fast that you hit the moose you shouldn't have hit because it would have been far ahead of you? [Link]
