Midcoast Craftsmanship On Display

Checkered Garter Snake, Kristin Terpening of RocklandThe Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport has opened its second biennial exhibition of regional woodworking at the Messler Gallery.

"Woodworkers of Midcoast Maine" runs through March 2, and features works from the elegant (Tom Siske's Windsor Settee) to the whimsical (Kristin Terpening's Checkered Garter Snake, made from mahogany, with purple heart and poplar veneers).
The list of exhibitors includes Waldo County woodworkers Jim Bird of Belfast and David Holbrook of Liberty; Knox County's Gerald Curry of Union, Stephen Gleasner of Appleton, Dick Kelly of Spruce Head, Ken Keoughan of Friendship, Les Lufkin of Owls Head, John McAlevey and David Talley of Tenants Harbor, Kristin Terpening of Rockland and Joseph Brewer, Michael Roy, J. Peter Schlebecker, Libby Schrum and Tom Siske, all of Camden; and Lincoln County's Malcolm Ray of Damariscotta. [Link]
