Acadian in Maine

The Acadian Archives at the University of Maine at Fort Kent have been going strong for fifteen years.

The mission of the Archives is to "to document, preserve, celebrate, and disseminate information about the history and cultural heritage of Maine's Saint John Valley"—a history and heritage mostly of Québecois and Acadian origins. The Archives' holdings include "15 linear feet of manuscript materials, 8500 photographic images, 450 audio or video recordings and films, 200 microfilm rolls, 2000 reference books and journals, 100 maps, plus ephemera and other materials on regional history and culture."

Online offerings include a 92-page report on Acadian Culture in Maine, with 100 color images, photographs, drawings and maps not included in the print version.
